Meet Our Columbia Town Center Orthodontics Doctor: Dr. Connie Rubler, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Connie Rubler (B.S. Biology, B.S. Mechanical Engineering, M.S. Biomedical Engineering Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute) received her D.D.S. from the University of Maryland. Dr. Rubler was graduated Magna Cum Laude and then completed her residency in Orthodontics, also at the University of Maryland.
Dr. Rubler has been a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontists since 1989. She served as a Clinical Professor of Orthodontists at the University of Maryland Dental School for over 30 years. She has lectured on Biomechanics at Fort Meade and the University of Maryland Dental School and brings her meticulous nature, attention to detail, and love of mechanics to our patients, who love the precision orthodontic services she delivers.
Dr. Rubler is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontics, and the American Dental Association, as well as their component societies, and is a past president of the Maryland Society of Orthodontists. She enjoys her time with her husband, 4 children and 6 grandchildren. She has been a resident of Columbia since 1976. Her pastimes include quilting, knitting, beading, baking and reading.
Meet Our Columbia Town Center Orthodontics Doctor: Dr. Barbara Halpern, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Barbara Halpern (B.S. Chemistry Goucher College, D.D.S. University of Maryland), has over 20 years of experience in the practice and teaching of dentistry. While working as an Associate Professor and teaching at the University of Maryland Dental School, she completed a Master’s Degree in Education. She is an accomplished writer and editor, having authored and edited many journals, articles, and publications in the dental industry.
After fifteen years in the private practice of general dentistry, Dr. Halpern returned to the University of Maryland, where she completed a three-year residency and received her certification in Orthodontics and a Master’s in Oral Biology. Her compassionate nature, focused attention and thoughtful concern for our patients compliment her hands-on orthodontic skills.
Dr. Halpern is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and the component societies of these organizations. As residents of Columbia since 1977, she and her husband and two daughters have grown with the community. As a craft lover, she enjoys spending time doing needlework, designing and fabricating art quilts, drawing, photography, reading, and exercising.
